Course goals and content
(This information is common to KIV/OP and KIV/OP-E.) The aim of the course Thematic Project is to develop the ability of students of the master-level degree of study to independently solve projects in the field of informatics, which include research activities, and also to document and present their results. The course may be supplemented with Seminar in Informatics (KIV/OSN-E) covering the methodology of the scientific and engineering approach in solving advanced problems.
Project assignments come from various areas of research and development cultivated at the department, and their solutions are developed by students individually under the supervision of experienced supervisors. An essential part of the solution is the analysis of the problem, the selection and verification of alternatives or suitable paths to the solution, and the presentation of the result within expert groups. The result is usually the creation of a software work and/or a medium-scale analytical study.
Detailed information for students and project supervisors can be found on the Requirements page.
